Flash Essay in the Sun

Ever since I read Cheryl Strayed’s “The Love of My Life” (which, if you haven’t read it, do so now, and prepare to be broken), I’ve been an admirer of The Sun. I mean, who isn’t? They publish such devastating writing, month after month, and the magazine itself is just beautiful.

I’ve always loved their Readers Write section—The Sun has been publishing flash nonfiction since way before it was cool—and last winter, I submitted a piece about this dumpy pizzeria I’m desperately in love with. Lucky me, they chose to publish it, and here it is (you have to scroll down a bit to find it, but take your time, the stories are all great).
